Previously, part of my role as a Nottingham Golf Partnership Academy Coach and Community Coach is to help develop the game of golf in the area.  Offering the chance to play golf at Schools, Colleges, Community events to people of all ages. 

Recently, the Nottinghamshire County Golf Partnership have established a successful junior development programme which has offered the children who play competent golf to receive further subsidised coaching to help develop their skills further and progress them to a County standard. 

In 2014, as part of my role as Senior Teaching Professional, offered funded coaching sessions to over 1000 children both in schools coaching sessions and at the Golf Clubs itself.  Some of the sessions were aimed at allowing children with disabilities to access the facilities and to progress through a structured coaching programme, leading to the taking part in several competitions on our Par 3 Academy Course.

In the recent past, Golf became an Olympic sport and I feel it is important to offer the opportunity to play golf to everyone.  Gone are the days where Golf was an elitist and expensive sport.  It is possible for junior golfers to receive coaching for as little as £10 in a group format at our centre.  I hope this excites young players and encourages them to try this great game.

With 10 professional tournament victories, I still enjoy the competitive nature of the game but I have definitely taken a turn towards coaching and growing the game over recent seasons.
